Transportation to Broken Arrow
Flying: Tulsa International Airport (TUL) is just 11 miles from the airport.
If you are flying into Tulsa, you will receive a free, round-trip ride-share voucher to the Stoney Creek Hotel. You must be staying at the hotel to receive this offer.
Public transportation around the Tulsa metro area: Go to the St. Francis South station. From there, you can connect with Broken Arrow’s Micro-transit system.
MOKA Travel Reimbursement Scholarship Policy
The MLV Foundation is committed to reducing barriers to participation for individuals who are blind or legally blind. To assist with travel expenses to the MOKA Conference for the Blind, the MLV Foundation offers a limited Travel Reimbursement Scholarship Program on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility
To be eligible for reimbursement, applicants must:
- Be blind or legally blind.
- Provide proof of disability by submitting one of the following:
- An SSI/SSDI award letter, or
- A doctor’s letter verifying blindness or legal blindness.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must briefly describe their financial need for reimbursement.
- Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis
- Due to limited funds, not all applicants may be approved.
Funding Details
- Scholarships provide reimbursement for eligible travel expenses up to $100 per person.
- Funds are limited; applicants are encouraged to apply early.
- MLV Foundation reserves the right to deny applications if funds are depleted or criteria are not met.
Reimbursement Process
- Approved applicants must submit original receipts for eligible travel expenses.
- Reimbursements will be issued within two weeks after the conclusion of the MOKA Conference, provided all receipts have been turned in from the approved applicant.
- No reimbursement will be made without valid receipts.
