Chip Hailey, lost his vision due to sports related injuries. He received his first prosthetic in his right eye in sixth grade after a hemorrhage from being hit in the eye playing baseball. The second accident came when he was sixteen while playing football and suffering from a detached retina. After several surgeries, the retina just simply wouldn’t hold and eventually had too many tears, holes, and wrinkles that it could no longer withstand any more surgeries and finally became detached for the final time while in college. He wears a shell over his left eye.
