The presentation will start with an introduction to types of plants such as herbs, vegetables and flowers. I will discuss ways to identify plants and seeds. I will cover different gardening techniques such as containers, raised beds and inground planting. I can suggest how to get started, care for plants and how to use what is grown. Throughout the presentation adaptive techniques and strategies will be covered.

I currently live on a homestead where I keep a small herd of dairy goats and a vegetable garden. Last year I started a group called Homesteading By Touch so that persons who are blind, their family members and friends can share knowledge and experiences. I enjoy helping blind people create strategies to become successful gardeners or to continue gardening after sight loss.
